The red stripped goby, scientifically known as Trimma cana, originates from the Western Pacific region (Philippines, Caroline Is., Fiji, Marshall Is., and Palau), and grows to be about 1 inch (2.5cm) long, which makes this species an optimal fit for the nano reef aquarium. His opaque, elongated body in covered by eight bright red vertical stripes. The clear dorsal fin has a steep depression, the rear part sprinkled  with yellow spots. His golden rimmed eyes are rather large relative to his body.

This tiny goby is potential prey to larger fish, so he should only be associated with small, peaceful fish. Best kept in pairs or a small group. The males are territorial, so offer enough surface area for a group of several males. They eat fine frozen and fresh food, like lobster eggs, small mysid shrimp and Artemia.
